Lauren's Art for 365 days
I realized that something I always shy away from in all of my art and that has really limited me as an artist is sketching because I have never made an effort at it. So, I decided no matter how small a picture, how quick it is, or how bad it is I am going to do 365 drawings this year, starting Dec 14, 2011. Let's see if my skills improve.

Sketch 68, Day 115 - Eye practice
This was a study of how to make an eye look really realistic and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The picture lost some of the detail but I still think it's pretty good.
Sketch 64, Day 115 - Lady 1 of 4
After a long hiatus of being uninspired, I'm back with lots of sketches to make up. This one I got as a practice in drawing women's portraits. The exercise was to use one model and do multiple drawings so these are mine.

Sketch 59, Day 74 - Zombie boy
So this is supposed to be a happy go lucky, smiling boy and the shadows make him look like a zombie. Point taken. Can't sketch when I've had too much wine.Noted.
Sketch 58, Day 74 - Woman Asleep
I hate this one. Hate it. Not just because her hair looks like a mullet but because I got the proportions wrong. And it didn't capture what I was trying to capture. *sigh* Maybe there will be a redo in the future.

Sketch 51, Day 61 - Shapes
I know you wanted them and now you have them: all the basic shapes in one place with shading and shadows. End scene on last day of class.
Sketch 50, Day 61 - Vanishing Points
Sorry for the super awful quality of this photo. We were working on vanishing points and turning boxes into tables plus a little perspective thrown in.
